When we live Life Together as Jesus describes in the Beatitudes we shall live life together that changes the world.

Jesus teaches that his disciples will be salt and light - exercising a restraining effect against evil (salt) and yet reflecting goodness and beauty to the world (light).

The Beatitudes are a collection of profound statements from Jesus to his disciples about how they can experience the kingdom of God together.

Together they give us a glimpse of what kingdom life is like. But they take us further still, offering us an experience of that kingdom life as we grow as disciples of Jesus.

In this introductory sermon to the Life Together teaching series, we delve into the background of Jesus' ministry among the towns and villages of Galilee.

He embarks on his mission to show and tell about the kingdom of God through
Teaching
Proclamation
Healing

His impact is profound and far-reaching, and very quickly he draws vast crowds. However, from among the crowds, Jesus is looking for disciples: people who would come after him, attach themselves to him, and learn from him.

Jesus continues this ministry through the church - his body on earth - and so there are significant practical applications for us as a local church in Belfast.

Hope is here: and it has real substance.
The Christian gospel is founded on more than a good idea, or nice thoughts. There are real reasons why we can experience deep hope:
Hope is Rooted in Mercy
Hope is Marked by the Spirit
Hope Anticipates Total Salvation

How to Have Hope

Sunday Nov 20, 2022

Sunday Nov 20, 2022

Hope is essential to life. No one can live without hope.
The Christian message says: Hope is Here!
In this series we examine the reason for hope as seen in the writings of Luke in his gospel account.
This first talk focuses on the first couple to hear that Hope is Here - the aging Zechariah and Elizabeth. They are told by an angelic messenger that God will give them a son in their twilight years - and he shall exercise a remarkable ministry in Israel.
He shall prepare the people for God - 'Hope is Here' he will preach with power.
If we are to have hope we must take the following four steps:
Pursue Hope
Understand Hope
Believe Hope
Celebrate Hope
